Annie Dike / Have Wind Will Travel
Author-preneur

In a former life, Annie was a trial attorney, practicing in the area of medical malpractice defense, until
she decided she wanted to sail the world instead. At an early age, Annie left her practice to write and
self‐publish books. She now works remotely as a full‐time author and marketing consultant for various
clients and companies in Alabama and Pensacola. Annie spends the majority of her time sailing she
and her boyfriend’s Niagara 35 along Florida’s west coast and the Keys, the adventures of which she
chronicles on her travel blog at HaveWindWillTravel.com. She is also the author of the Amazon #1
best‐seller in Sailing books, Salt of a Sailor, and is currently working on her second non‐fiction sailing
piece: Keys to the Kingdom.

Lee Hansen / The Global Corner
Director

Never doubt a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world;

indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

– Margaret Mead

In 2006, when Lee Hansen retired from a career as a Naval Officer, she wanted to make a difference in her new community. Working with a small group of thoughful, committed citizens, she designed

The Global Corner with these goals in mind:

Introduce the children of Northwest Florida to the languages, customs and cultures of people around the world –

and in the process improve basic skills.

Increase student and community interest and awareness in learning about other cultures.

Develop a future workforce capable of successfully contributing to multinational organizations

and local companies that trade internationally.

Enable citizens to develop a holistic world view – encouraging critical thinking,

celebrating international diversity, and increasing global awareness.

Our Mission Statement  “The Global Corner provides opportunities for the children of Northwest Florida to learn about world languages, cultures, and geography through innovative, educational programs.”

Our Motto  “Bringing the World to Life – One Child at a Time!”
