Pensacola Business Radio – 11.19.15 – Guests: Audrey Preston / Parade People, Ashlee Carpentier / Complete DKI

Audrey Preston / Parade People

Mother and daughter pair, Terry and Audrey Preston, have been participating in parades all along the Gulf Coast since the 1980’s. They are the “bead ladies” behind Pensacola Parade People LLC. Our family knows parades and we LOVE spreading the Pensacola parade fever! After countless bead-buying trips out of state we recognized the need for a wider selection of quality beads and throws at affordable prices right here in the Pensacola Bay Area, and decided to open a Mardi Gras store devoted exclusively to serving our Pensacola Parading Community! Come see us at the store and “LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULER!”

Raised on king cake and moon pies, Audrey’s had the “bon temps” spirit since she was in diapers and grew up catching her grandpa’s and dad’s throws in Pensacola parades. As a Pensacola native, she believes “a parade ain’t a parade without beads!”Audrey honed the fine art of arriving early and staking out the best bead-catching spot until she was old enough to cross the barricades as a “floater in training”…aka a safety walker (a path her younger sister also took.) Walking the line of floats before the parade to admire everyone’s handiwork and trade custom Krewe beads and pins is her favorite part of any parade. The next best part is spending time with Krewe friends, new and old, at year-round festivities. When the floats have been parked in their barns and the streets have been swept, you’ll find her kayaking or playing with her Great Danes.

For the past 30 years, Terry has called Pensacola “home” and has enjoyed watching Mardi Gras festivities in the Pensacola Bay Area expand…they just keep getting better and better! Drawn to to the Pensacola Bay Area by the glittering, white sands and her retired military parents, Terry quickly took to the Pensacola parading traditions and has been active in various Krewes since the 1980s. Her first floating experience came in 1998 when she rode with a women’s Krewe…in the back of a pick-up truck in the beach parade. Since then, parading in Pensacola has gotten even more fun and every year sees more Krewes and bigger, better floats added to our parades. Introducing ‘newbies’ (visitors, transplants, and natives) to Pensacola’s Mardi Gras experience has always been her favorite part of the festivities. When there’s not a parade to be had (a rare occurrence for sure), you’ll find her following her favorite blues and zydeco bands.

The Fun Side

Steve Wilmer / Professional Speaker
Steve Speaks

The list would go on and on when people who know Steve, meet Steve and hear Steve Speak are asked to describe him. Steve energizes the room when he walks in and all eyes and ears are in tuned to his message. He captivates his audience and has them sitting on the edge of their seat to hear what’s next. Steve’s humor and quick wit will have you laughing out loud while delivering a message that is clear, practical and relevant to any audience.

While some speakers leave you “less than inspired”, Steve charges your battery and has you ready to tackle whatever task is at hand. Steve Wilmer is…Unforgettable!

Steve has spoken to audiences from 5 to 500. No matter the audience size, he has a positive impact and a lasting impression. From inspiring independent business owners to achieve their goals to training employees on team building and what it takes to win in business, Steve’s presentations are true investments in success. Steve currently travels the country coaching and training insurance agents in the art of the sales process and is highly sought after in this field.

Steve is a native of Pensacola, Florida. Upon his graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country proudly for 8 years and received an honorable discharge. Steve then returned home and spent the next 10 years serving his community as a law enforcement officer.

Steve later started his own business with Ameriplan Health and Dental. It is here where Steve discovered that his true passion was team building and motivating others to achieve their goals. He was later recruited by State Farm Kizziah Agency and quickly rose through the ranks as one of the top insurance producers in the state.

He is a member of Pensacola Life Church, Pensacola North Rotary Club and Prosperous Christians Group. On a side note, Steve is a HUGE Miami Dolphins fan and has 60 plus Miami Dolphins ball caps that hang on the wall in his Miami Dolphins Man Cave.

He has achieved           extreme success in several careers including sales, marketing, management, corporate         restructuring and consulting. He understands the business world from top to bottom and       has helped many companies to become profitable, multi-million dollar enterprises.

Dan was also considered one of the top experts in the country assisting companies to secure funding. He has been connected with as many as 400 Private Equity Investors, Institutional Investors, Venture Capital Groups, and Angel Investors. He now holds ownership in several successful companies and is personally invested in several spaces in the market. Dan is also one of the co-founders of a book publishing company with nearly a dozen best-selling authors.

Dan has coached everyone from celebrities to some of the top companies found in Forbes Magazine. He specializes in helping existing companies maximize their profits while reducing their costs and overhead. Although Dan is recognized as one of the top motivational speakers today, he does not claim to be a self-help coach or the next great motivational guru. He recognizes the need for self-improvement and positive thinking; however, believes that motivation alone will not achieve financial success. His belief is that any business problem and most life problems can be solved through proper math and hard variables.

He started his television journey a few years ago as the producer and host of Tuesdays With Dan, a late night business talk show that reached just over 1 million homes per week on ABC. The show’s popularity quickly made it one of America’s fastest growing talk shows. It was filmed in front of a live studio audience and featured weekly guests, including entrepreneurs and top celebrities. Today, it is airing under the new name The Dan Vega Show, which has expanded to over 35 million homes per week.

Cissi Milford / 3SIXTY STUDIOS

Award winning graphic designer with 28 years of experience in graphic design and printing industry, who combines a great creative eye with a deep understanding of the technical aspects of offset and digital print capabilities and specifications as well as an intuitive insight for development of e-marketing. Her clients rely on her design expertise and creative ability to develop material that is eye catching, appealing and yet never distract from the message they want to send.

Specialties include graphic design for print media, complete marketing collateral development, web graphics and E-marketing design.

Why fit in when you can stand out!

At 3SIXTYdesign, we are dedicated to help take your business to the next level combining creativity and eye catching design with unique graphic solutions and quality printed products. We cater to clients desiring a high level of service, quality and expertise, along with quick turn around, friendly service and reasonable prices.

We offer our clients personal service and develop honest and collaborative relationships. Together we solidify strong messages and work to bring those messages to life.

We specialize in brand identity, strategy, eye catching graphic design, and collateral marketing materials that reinforce your product positioning. Combined with fast full-color printing, mail services, social media, and responsive web design we help support your communications strategy and coordinating messages across a broad range of media.

Regardless of which media you are planning to use, 3SIXTYdesign can create the graphics required to demand your audiences’ attention and increase your business’ profits.

When 3SIXTY Studio was born (as GrafixNext) in 2003, the main focus was on exactly that – graphic and logo design but before long, the services included taking the jobs from infant stage, through complete design, press checks, printing and delivery of finished product.

Throughout the years, the need for a more complete service bureau offering online media support as well as the traditional print media became very obvious. Our clients wanted to be able to use what we designed online, as well as off line. We partnered up with Constant Contact to be able to offer e-marketing without violating the spam act. Online newsletters and “e-vites” were soon a hit.

Having taken the step from paper to pixels, web development and support was not far behind. Every business can benefit from a website – if nothing else – to generate awareness. It seemed very natural to adopt the web into our growing family and we are proud to be able to develop sites that our clients easily can update and manipulate on their end. This is also when we realized we had outgrown our name, and re-branded to 3SIXTY Studio – a wide range marketing studio.

Most resently, in order to better control the printing process – including pricing, quality and speed – we added a bolt-on printing franchise to our family. We are proud to present Studio. Now our high level of personal and experienced services carries over as we manage your job through the printing, delivery and mailing process.

In 2003, we proudly celebrated 50 years of service to individuals with developmental disabilities in Northwest Florida.  Since 2003, we have experienced drastic funding cuts by the State of Florida to our group homes and our adult day program.

We opened Capstone Academy, the first inclusive charter school for infants to age five in North Florida, in 2004.  Today this program site hosts a public charter school, voluntary pre-kindergarten (VPK), early intervention therapies (speech, occupational, physical), applied behavioral analysis therapy, after school programs and a therapy clinic for children/students with and without developmental disabilities or delays.

In October 2008, we merged with Children’s Services Center, adding to our list of programs the Milton Child Care Center.  This child care center gave us the presence to offer additional services for children in Santa Rosa County.

That same year, 2008, we began renovations at Capstone Academy Pensacola (4901 West Fairfield Drive) by adding a new wing (two classrooms) to accommodate additional students.  The project was completed in January 2009.  The expansion allowed us to double the number of preschoolers who attend the school.

January 2010 brought the opening of Capstone Academy Milton, providing early intervention, after school, VPK, and a public charter school to children with and without disabilities and their families in Santa Rosa County.  Property was purchased and renovated at 5308 Stewart Street Milton to accommodate those programs.  The Milton school mirrors Capstone Academy Pensacola.

As we moved into 2013, we experienced still more funding cuts from local, state, and federal agencies; thus placing even more burden on our agency to increase fundraising activities.

We surrendered our affiliate membership with United Cerebral Palsy Associations in February 2014.  This required us to cease the use of the UCP logo.  This move was to save our agency much needed funds.

In the summer of 2014 we hosted a brainstorm session with community leaders to select a new name for the agency.  Capstone Adaptive Learning and Therapy Centers, Inc. (Capstone for short) was the outcome. The John Appleyard Agency created our new brand logo.  Our new name and logo have been embraced by our stakeholders and the community at large.

Also in 2014, Capstone purchased a building in Milton (5326 Stewart Street) to offer a children’s therapy clinic and feeding and swallowing therapies for infants and children in North Santa Rosa County and surrounding area.  In 2015, we purchased a portable building and placed it at the Capstone Academy Pensacola campus to offer a Children’s Therapy Clinic in Escambia County.

Even though we have experienced many challenges, we continue to offer the best services for children and students who have an array of abilities and disabilities as well as their families.  We look forward to the future as we embark on a new era of providing innovative and exciting services to those in need.

Erin Kadan / Green Clean Detail
Operations Manager

Green Cleen Detail is exceptionally different from other detailers. Not a giant corporation, they don’t offer a dozen

confusing options, nor is there a team of hourly employees. As the owner, Ben Kadan is personally responsible for the

care of every vehicle that chooses Green Cleen. He puts a lot of effort into making every vehicle as nice as possible.

Green Cleen Detail only offers three options: full detail, half detail, wash. A wash is a light touching of the entire

vehicle. A detail is a thorough, indepth cleaning. Half details include a wash of the other half, for example: an interior

detail will include an exterior wash. There isn’t a brick & mortar store; Green Cleen Detail arrives at people’s home,

office or wherever they’ll be for a couple hours, able to complete the work in just three parking spaces.

Ben Kadan has been caring for cars since 2002, and opened Green Cleen in 2011 with the purpose of being his own

boss and doing things his way, trying to change the wasteful nature of the industry. He uses only 5 gallons of water to

wash a car. All the chemicals are biodegradable & environmentally friendly.

At the beginning, there was a $500 nonworking farm truck that he fixed to run on vegetable oil instead of using diesel

& all the equipment was tied in to also use the oil instead of petro. After three years, he upgraded to the Green Cleen

ambulance, which still ran on vegetable oil, but added a solar array to run all the equipment (much quieter). Just this

week, Green Cleen was able to upgrade to a brand new Nissan van; although it runs on regular gas, it gets about 40

mpg & all the equipment is running on solar.

Over the past 15 years, Ben has spent a lot of time gaining knowledge about the car care industry. He has researched

different chemicals and equipment & strives to find a balance with the environment without sacrificing the results. Ben

prides himself on leaving cars looking as good as (or in many cases better than) when they were purchased. He is

currently researching dent removal techniques and the company is getting ready to offer that as an additional service.

In addition to the van, Green Cleen just purchased a fully electric Nissan Leaf. As someone who spent about 7 years

working for dealerships & cleaning new cars, Ben knows that the staff at the dealership is underpaid & undertrained.

New cars don’t usually come waxed, and when one purchases a new car, that immediate maintenance must be done

or the clear coat is sacrificed, ruining the investment. He is often frustrated with dealerships for the way the cars are

Most detail companies are making their money on speed and turnover, but Green Cleen Detail focuses on doing a

really great job on every car touched. Most detail companies are only concerned with getting the cheapest chemicals &

biggest margins, but Green Cleen Detail takes pride in finding chemicals that are good for the world as well as the car.

Many mobile detailers will ask to connect to your water or power source, but Green Cleen Detail arrives fully contained

and ready to work without bothering sleeping clients or busy professionals. Many companies wouldn’t be willing to put

in the additional time and effort that Green Cleen does, and choosing them is a choice for a small business, a choice

for the environment & the world, a choice to keep money in the local Pensacola economy.

Green Cleen Detail has gotten busier over the years, and books cars by appointment only. They are currently booking

about 2 weeks out. In addition to cars & trucks, Green Cleen Detail cares for motorcycles, RVs, and boats. Ben has

experience with show cars, antiques, and exotics.

You can contact Green Cleen at their website:, like on Facebook, follow on Twitter

& Instagram @GreenCleenFL, and after they make your car look & feel new, you can Pin a photo to their

Pinterest! Of course, you can always call or text: 850-316-7188.

Lee Broussard / True Choice Telecom
Telecom Solutions Consultant

TrueChoice Telecom works with the best internet, data and VoIP providers to offer customized, effective and efficient program; each as unique as our valued clients.  We pride ourselves on exceptional, “customer-centric” service before, during and long after the sale.  Regardless of the size of your company, we act as an extension of your staff, meeting all of your telecom needs.  We free you up to concentrate on your business, not connectivity issues.  That’s our job – and we do it well!

TrueChoice Telecom was founded by Anthony Gomez in January 2003, as a way to provide objective telecom solutions and multiple service options for business clients across the United States. Prior to TrueChoice Telecom, most companies purchased their telecom services from employees of a particular telecom provider. The services offered were biased because they could only sell their own solutions. At TrueChoice, we’ve sifted through hundreds of providers to establish strategic alliances and partnerships with the best in the business. By packaging an extensive variety of service options from a single contact we’ve been able to attract some of the best solution-based sales people and leaders in the telecom industry, which is a real benefit for our clients.

The combination of multiple providers from one single contact has proved to be nothing short of incredible. The year 2014 became the eleventh consecutive year that TrueChoice experienced double digit growth in net billings and gross profit. We now have four partners and, by providing effective, cost-saving solutions for our clients, each has enjoyed significant success with the company.
