Pensacola Business Radio 2-16-16 – Guests: Steven Reynolds and Tim Shipman / Cordova Lanes Bowling Center, Kay Mitchell / Florida Blue

20160216_133934

Steven Reynolds and Tim Shipman / Cordova Lanes Bowling Center

Steve Reynolds is the owner of Cordova Lanes Bowling Center, which operates as a community center as much as a bowling and family entertainment center. Cordova Lanes is well known in Pensacola as the place that put ‘fun’ into fundraising, whether hosting a fundraising event at the lanes, or contributing auction items and door prizes to local events.

Popular evening specials such as ‘penny-a-pin’ and the famous ‘kids bowl free all Summer’ are coupled with a reputation for quality that means Cordova Lanes hosts regional and NCAA tournaments.  They also host local business and networking groups, off-site working lunches for businesses and a flurry of Holiday and Christmas parties.

The Reynolds family has been involved in Pensacola’s bowling scene for many decades. Steve’s father Bob opened Cordova Lanes in 1979. Since then, it has continued to flourish as a legacy of his philosophy that a business that becomes part of a community becomes an institution; a part of the fabric of that community.

WELCOME TO CORDOVA LANES!

let’s go bowling…

…or throw darts, or play poker, or have a great salad, or share your singing skills with the Karaoke bunch, or catch the big game…

You get my point? Cordova Lanes is a Bowling Center… as in Community Center. We have plenty of activities, but more importantly; we have the perfect vehicle to assist you in meeting your goals, both personal and professional.

Bowling is great fun, great exercise, and a great icebreaker. It’s perfect forfamily gatherings, school field trips, church socials, networking opportunities, fundraisers, dates, civic group meetings, weddings, and birthdays or celebrations of any kind!

We are also experts at ensuring you have a great time while bowling, whether as a league member or just a simple social occasion. And don’t worry about staying in touch – we have free wi-fi throughout the center.

Come experience the at Cordova Lanes, where we prove bowling is fun!

tuder Group® works with healthcare organizations in the United States, Canada, Australia, and beyond, to help them achieve and sustain exceptional improvement in clinical outcomes and financial results. A Huron Healthcare solution, Studer Group partners with organizations to build a sustainable culture that promotes accountability, fosters innovation, and consistently delivers a great patient experience and the best quality outcomes over time. By installing an execution framework called Evidence-Based LeadershipSM (EBL), organizations are able to align goals, actions and processes, and execute quickly. This framework creates the foundation that enables transformation in this era of continuous change.

Learn More About Studer Group

A PASSION FOR MAKING HEALTHCARE BETTER

Studer Group trusted advisors partner with healthcare organizations to create an aligned culture that is accountable to achieving outcomes together. Working side-by-side, we help to establish, accelerate, and hardwire the necessary changes through a sequenced approach. This leads to better transparency, higher accountability, and the ability to target and execute specific, objective results that organizations want to achieve. EBL provides unparalleled leadership and cultural transformation that empowers organizations to respond to new initiatives more quickly and effectively than the rest of the nation.

EVIDENCE-BASED LEADERSHIPSM AND THE BALDRIGE AWARD

It’s this commitment to helping organizations accelerate their ability to execute that led to Studer Group receiving the 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Our evidence demonstrates that the EBL framework—especially the consistency it creates—is a natural fit with the Baldrige criteria.

The same EBL principles we teach our partners are also hardwired in our own organization. The framework forces us to operate with the efficiency, discipline, and accountability that allowed us to achieve a Baldrige Award level of quality in the first place. It also creates the kind of environment that naturally attracts high performers and allows them to thrive.

WHAT OUR PARTNERS SAY

Even though we had all the tools and knowledge, we had read all of Quint’s books, we had implemented many things, we couldn’t do it until we brought a Coach in. And that’s what Studer Group really brought to the table. They’ve been there, done it, and seen it done all over the country. – Steve Smoot, FACHE, VP, Intermountain Healthcare, Urban South Region

Partnering with Studer Group was the best decision I have made in my 25 years as a healthcare executive. We have drastically improved our patient satisfaction and employee engagement in the first year of implementation of the Studer Group’s Evidence-Based Leadership strategies. – Mike Schafer, CEO, Spooner Health System, Spooner, WI

It all comes back to making healthcare better. Working together, we can create great places for employees to work, physicians to practice medicine and patients to receive care.

Dennis Caire / Breast Cancer Research Foundation  Representative- HOT PINK WEEKEND in PENSACOLA, FL.

The Breast Cancer Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to achieving prevention and a cure for breast cancer. We provide critical funding for cancer research worldwide to fuel advances in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, metastasis and survivorship.

BCRF is the highest rated breast cancer organization in the U.S. with an A+ rating from Charity Watch and 4 out of 4 stars from Charity Navigator.

Since our founding in 1993 by Evelyn H. Lauder, BCRF has raised more than half a billion dollars for lifesaving research. Through a unique and streamlined grants program, we seek out the brightest minds in science and medicine and give them the necessary resources to pursue their best ideas. As a result, researchers are able to make discoveries and design new approaches to address all aspects of breast cancer—and do so in record time.

“Our goal is to accelerate the breakthroughs bringing us closer to a cure to speed up the progress that will improve survivorship and quality of life for breast cancer patients today.” – Myra J. Biblowit, President & CEO

In 2015-2016, BCRF will award $48.5 million in annual grants to over 240 scientists from top universities and medical institutions around the globe. In addition, $5.4 million has been committed to the international Founder’s Fundproject focused on metastasis. Every hour of research we fund improves outcomes and saves lives. But we still have more to do.

The thousands of women and men suffering from breast cancer today depend on us. No institution can conquer this disease alone. Together, we can.

Q.What exactly is this product? How does this foam differ from standard Styrofoam I might be most familiar with?

A. This is a high density polystyrene that is created in a high temperature, high pressure press unlike regular expanded foam moldings made by other manufacturers. This is not cooler foam, packaging foam, or styrofoam.

  •  “Styrofoam” is a trademark of Dow Chemical.
  •  Styrofoam is not even an open cell foam. It is actually an extruded closed cell polystyrene material.” XPS”
  • “Styrofoam” is now a recognized name for EPS expanded polystyrene, XPS extruded polystyrene

and even polyurethane crown moldings. When you search the web you will find all three.

  • EPS is an “Expanded Polystyrene”  foam like you see in drink coolers and corners protectors that go around products in boxes.

There are several densities of EPS foams.

Example:

  •   1 lb. foam means 1lbs. per cubic foot in weight. (soft)
  •   2 lb. foam means 2 lbs. per cubic foot in weight. (harder)

Most likely you will not see any EPS greater that 2 Lb. for commercial use
and 1 lb. for packaging, hobby or household use.
Our crown moldings are 4 Lb. density.
