Kevin and Judi Hogan / The Ball Hawk

Ball Hawk

How the Golf Ball Hawk Came To Be

cropped-kevinKevin Hogan, the inventor of The Golf Ball Hawk, had a problem. He was always looking in his golf bag for his next ball, for he lost quite a few when he was learning to play. Or he was stuffing his pockets and unable to pull the next ball out without removing his glove. And you know the effect that a pocket full of golf balls can have on your swing! So he set out to solve his problem. For almost twenty years he contemplated the idea for having a dispenser that would mount to the top of your golf bag, making your golf balls easily accessible. He went through several designs, made drawings and produced prototypes. Finally, after his wife Judi said, “Now is your time to put this out there!” He made it happen. Selecting the simplest to use design and with the help of some strategic alliances, he finally produced a finished model of what a “real” ball hawk would look, feel and smell like!

Introducing “The Golf Ball Hawk”

double-shot-gb-backgroundWe would like to introduce you to our product “The Golf Ball Hawk”. It is a golf ball dispenser that clips to the top of your golf bag and allows you easy access to your golf balls. No more digging around in the bottom of your bag, or having your pockets stuffed with extra golf balls. Make your game more enjoyable. Use your energy to concentrate on that swing! It will become an indispensable tool that you just won’t want to go out on the course without.

How it works

green-on-bagThe Golf Ball Hawk is very simple to use. To begin, you simply clip it to the top of your golf bag. It is top loading and holds up to four balls, so pop open the top and load it up. To remove a ball from the Golf Ball Hawk you simply lift it slightly at the bottom of the tube and pull it towards you. Out it pops into your hand! You’re now ready to tee up and focus on your shot.

The UF/IFAS West Florida Research and Education Center (WFREC) is your local University of Florida campus in Milton and research facility in Jay. We are a part of the Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) which is a federal-state-county partnership dedicated to developing knowledge in agriculture, human and natural resources, and the life sciences, and enhancing and sustaining the quality of human life by making that information accessible. Our mission is to create and extend knowledge in agriculture and natural resources through teaching, research, and extension to improve the quality of life.

Our History

In 1946, the Experiment Station in Jay (on County Road 182 between Chumuckla and Allentown Crossroads) opened its doors for the purpose of agricultural research in areas relevant to local growers. The Experiment Station, now referred to as the Jay Research Facility, is still creating knowledge for distribution through UF/IFAS Extension efforts.

In 1995, the UF/IFAS West Florida Research and Education Center started offering teaching programs at the Milton Campus. These teaching programs include knowledge gained through the research at the Jay Research Facility. Our teaching programs allow students to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resource Conservation or Plant Science at the Milton Campus without having to relocate to Gainesville. These programs are possible through a partnership with Pensacola State College and other local area schools. To date, the West Florida Research and Education Center has graduated over 100 people.

Barb Wagner / dottera Oils

Would you like to learn how to begin down the path to wellness? I have dedicated myself to teaching people how to do just that.

I was introduced to essential oils in the summer of 2011. At that time, I had never heard of an essential oil. All I knew was that I had not slept through the night in years, and I was really tired of that.

A good friend sent me a little bottle of lavender essential oil and

suggested that I put a drop of it on the bottom of my feet before

going to bed. It seemed a little crazy, but I thought, “Why not?”

So I did as she suggested, and I was amazed to have one of the

most restful night’s sleep in years!!

I attended one of her classes and learned how the different oils could benefit me and support my body with the tools it needed to maintain optimal health. In the years since, I have become a great student of the oils. I attend national training sessions taught by some of the best scientists and experts on essential oils. I read all I can on them, but most importantly, I USE them everyday! Because I have seen so many benefits from using them, it has become my passion to tell others about them every chance I get.

So I am happy you have come to this website. Please go to the contact page so I can help you learn about using essential oils on your wellness journey!

Career Academies-Learn More Here

The School District of Escambia County’s career academies are small learning communities within middle or high schools that focus on a career pathway for a two-, three-, or four-year span. Students enter through a voluntary application process; they must apply and be accepted, with parental knowledge and support. Students in a career academy take a mixture of career (usually one or two) and academic (usually three or four) classes each year. Classes meet entrance requirements for four- year universities. Students develop knowledge in a given industry, and—in most academies—students have opportunities to earn industry certification relevant to the career academy. Students’ senior year may include work experience, paid or unpaid, in the community.

Please contact us for more information about our career academy opportunities.

ALL RISK INSURANCE

Specialized home and auto insurance in Pensacola, FL

We’re a locally owned and operated agency that delivers comprehensive insurance and risk management solutions in Pensacola and throughout Northwestern Florida. We’ve served individuals, families, and businesses for more than 35 years and we’re proud to have a longstanding history in our service communities. We’re members of the FAIA, which guides our approach to delivering solutions. We also receive continuing education every year to ensure that we use best practices and that we are on the cutting edge of insurance trends.
We can protect against virtually any risk and we work with a number of AM Best A+ rated carriers. Allied, Tower Hill, and Frontline are among the carriers with which we work and as a result of working with these and other carriers we can provide the best solutions possible. We specialize in home, auto, and business insurance, with a particular focus on auto repair shops, contractors, lawn services and laundromats.

Home and auto insurance

At All Risk Insurance we have a vast home insurance program through which we write policies that are custom-tailored to the needs of individual clients. We’ll tailor a policy to you as a Florida homeowner.
Auto insurance is important for Floridians as well, and like our home insurance program, our auto insurance program is fully customizable to the needs of individuals. From base coverages like liability and collision to additional coverages like diminishing deductible and accident forgiveness, we’ll keep you protected when you’re both on and off the road.
Bundling home and auto insurance makes you eligible for a discount that lowers your rates and for benefits that make extended coverage options available to you. Speak with an agent to learn more.

Business insurance

Businesses in Florida need protection against exposures, and through our business insurance program we provide that protection. We provide a wide variety of coverages that provide a base of protection for virtually any operation and we have programs forspecific industries like contracting and retail.
Securing businesses with broad and flexible insurance policies is one way in which we help contribute to the health of commercial environments in the communities we serve, but there is more than we do to ensure this health. We support and participate in local events and we work with local organizations, and as a result we contribute to commercial health and social health.

Community Involvement

We give to a homeless shelter in Pensacola and we work with For the Children of Milton, which provides housing for the homeless and helps children find resources and care that they need. In addition, we sponsor and participate in charities, fundraisers, sporting events, and festivals that celebrate the areas we serve and that help make our service communities better places to live and work. We also work with local organizations that contribute to the socioeconomic growth of the communities we serve. Our involvement with these events and organizations helps us get to know the people and business that we serve better and to become better insurers.

A little bit more about us

We believe in giving every client the best insurance experience possible and to ensure that such an experience is had we deliver effective and expansive products and personalized services. We help clients make the best insurance investments possible and we help clients maximize the value of these investments.
We can find a market for almost anything and we’re frequently referred to by other insurers. In the event that we cannot insure someone or a commercial enterprise, we justly refer the individual and/or enterprise owner to a specialized agent. We manage risk and claims and we provide ongoing education. This way, our clients can reduce costs and can have advocates. Our clients can also have the informational tools necessary in order to make the best possible decisions about insurance.
We’re fully available to our clients, which means that we can be reached whenever and however they might need to reach us. Via text, email, phone, and/or personal interactions, we communicate with our clients in ways that they prefer. We contact clients before annual reviews to ensure that changes that affect coverages have not occurred, and monitor policies closely to ensure that plans are always current and effective and so that rates are appropriate.
Please contact us or give us a call to learn more or to get started. If you’re ready to start on a policy, feel free to request a quote.

Pensacola Business Radio: USO and Campfire-2 Great Organizations Doing Good in Pensacola

20161122_101036

Tammy Byrer from Camp Fire Gulf Wind Council and Beej Davis from USO

Founded to Help Youth Thrive

For over 100 years Camp Fire has actively engaged youth and teens in building essential skills for life.

Luther Gulick, M.D., and his wife, Charlotte Gulick

Our heritage of cultivating community building, supporting academic readiness, and embracing diversity sets us apart.

Camp Fire was founded in 1910 by Luther Gulick, M.D., and his wife, Charlotte Gulick. They created Camp Fire “to guide young people on their journey to self-discovery.” The Gulicks felt strongly that the experiences young people have early in life teach them to care for themselves, their environment, and the people around them for a lifetime.

Camp Fire has been a leader and innovator in youth development from the very beginning. We’re proud to have led the way on some important issues.

Camp Fire was America’s first nonsectarian and multicultural organization for girls.

In 1975, Camp Fire became a coeducational organization. Boys and girls learn to play and work alongside each other and appreciate their similarities and differences in positive ways. Today, our programs serve roughly equal numbers of boys and girls.

In 1988, Camp Fire formalized its longstanding focus on teen service and leadership. Teens in Action was created to seize the energy and ideas of teens to tackle real issues in their communities. Nationwide, teens participate annually in community service projects that develop their skills and make real differences in their communities.

In 1993, Camp Fire added sexual orientation to its Inclusion Policy.

In 1997, Camp Fire introduced Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®—a national initiative that has touched millions of youth. Each year, adults and older teens write letters to youth, celebrating each child’s unique talents and pledging their encouragement and support. Absolutely Incredible Kid Day takes place annually on the third Thursday of March.

In 2010, Camp Fire celebrated its 100th birthday. Camp Fire participants across the country all lit campfires at the same time to honor the legacy of our organization. Camp Fire continues to celebrate its birthday on March 17th every year.

In 2012, Camp Fire became the first national youth development organization in the United States to implement the Thriving framework developed by the Thrive Foundation for Youth.
