Pensacola Business Radio-9-27-16 Guests: Deb Moore for Escambia County Tax Collector, Kevin Parr/DrinKitz, Jeremy Carver / Edward Jones, Calvin Bonifacio/Grub Ninja

20160927_140503

Meet Deb

Deb Moore is prepared for the role as your next Escambia County Tax Collector.  She continued her family’s tradition of service to our country and is a 12 year veteran of the United States Air Force.  Trained as a Cryptologist at Pensacola’s very own NTTC Corry Station, Deb went on to serve tours of duty in England, Greece, back at Corry Station and Japan. Throughout her career she was given responsibilities beyond her pay grade and she always rose to the challenge.  Deb was promoted to E6 by Brigadier General Paul Martin right here at Corry station for her efforts.  She made the next grade to MSgt in just 10 years, as she arrived in Japan.  There the Air Force was going through a paradigm shift in management to Total Quality Management (Malcolm Baldrige) and Deb was chosen as an instructor and the lead in bringing it to the unit. She continued her management studies with the University of Maryland and, in preparation for this job, just completed Management of a Tax Collector Office TCC502 offered through the FL DOR and TCC504 Collection of Licenses, Taxes and Fees later this month while she studies TCC501 Duties & Responsibilities of a Florida Tax Collector at home.

Deb’s commitment to her family and her community is consummate. Instrumental in the 1st Congressional District Honor Flight, taking World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., she has been recognized as An Angel in our Midst twice by WEAR TV3. This is her sixth year working to raise money to support underinsured and uninsured women in our community as a member of the Krewe du YaYa’s. She participates in Relay for Life, Pink Ribbon, and MSABC since 2005 and is a Road to Recovery Driver. Additionally, she is a United Way Board Member serving as their Advocacy/2-1-1 Chair and reads to a Pre-K student with Every Child a Reader in Escambia (ECARE).  Deb is the county appointee to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and was elected as the vice chair.  She serves as the treasurer on her Condominium Association and manages their budget daily.  With the Community Traffic Safety Team, Deb is a certified helmet fitter and fits kids for bike helmets at local events.  From substitute teacher to PTO President, team mom, coach or Guardian Ad Litem — whatever was needed at the time in her son’s life or in her community, Deb has answered the call, including training as an FHSAA swim official and USTA tennis official.

My desire has always been to serve you – the citizens of our great country and now Escambia County. I bring both my extensive military and civilian life experience to the office of Tax Collector and I ask for your vote on November 8th.

DrinKitz was formed in 2012 to develop, produce, and market an innovative and unique line of powdered cocktail drink mixes. The company was formed by a group of US Navy guys far too cheap and lazy to fully stock and mix drinks from their own bars or the endurance to carry it all around.  After discovering that mixing drinks from a bartenders guide got more difficult with the number of drinks consumed they asked the golden question —why can’t we just add a packet to  our favorite alcohol, mix, and drink. Now you can!

Far different than anything on the market, these drinks  are easy to use and mix, require no knowledge of bartending or mixology, and save you time and money. Whether you’re hanging out by the pool, hosting an event at home, heading out on vacation, or want to impress family and friends, you’ll want these by your side. With  one shot of your vodka, rum, or tequila, a little water and ice, and your choice of over 30 drink mixes, with a quick shake you become an instant bartender. Want something different? No problem, just grab a different mix packet! Want something we don’t have, let us know.

Made in America with high-quality ingredients, and available through regional liquor distributors, various retail  markets, caterers, and on our own Amazon storefront (coming soon),  these great products put fantastic tasting, full-bar quality mixed drinks at your fingertips—without the bar tab.

Kevin Parr is minority owner and Chief Operating Officer of DrinKitz LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.  A former Navy Lieutenant, Kevin first served as an enlisted Navy Cryptologist, and was later granted a commission as an Information Warfare Officer; he served from 1986-1992 & 2003-2015. Kevin has extensive experience in Risk Management and Human Resources.  A resident of South Dakota, Kevin spends a great deal of time in the Pensacola area, and also travels the US as he works to launch and market DrinKitz, and recruit additional sales teams.

Calvin Bonifacio is a pioneer in new age marketing strategies and mobile applications in the Pensacola area. Having launched projects such as GrubNinja and GrubOn T.V., he has connected the community with technology allowing restaurants to flourish with additional sources of revenue at very low cost, as well as, giving customers information through visual content and experiential marketing.

While travelling the country working with companies such as Oracle, Microsoft, and CompuCom training employees and deploying updates systems and softwares, Calvin realized the effect that technology has on large scale enterprises. This experience combined with the move to Pensacola and the advent of GrubNinja and GrubOn T.V. was the catalyst to LeadGrasp. We found a way to capitalize on Google strategies to develop and bring new businesses to the Gulf Coast region.

Calvin’s dedication lies in growing the Pensacola area since he plans on growing his family here. Therefore, not only are his endeavors for business purposes, but also to ensure the success of the local economy for future generations. Calvin realizes the potential growth that Pensacola holds and will help future business capitalize on this opportunities.

You can start tuning in to “PURE H2O” every Wednesday at 9AM CST on Pensacola Business RadioX. Every Wednesday there will be a local discussion on important environmental points of interest. From clean energy to healthy water to environmental justice, education and much more.

For our first podcast, Laurie Murphy, Executive Director of Emerald Coastkeeper will be interviewing local educators and a non-profit organization “Harnessing Opportunity and Power of Education (HOPE) about the importance of supplemental STEM education and art/cultural education in underserved communities.

For more information on how you can be a guest, contact Laurie Murphy at laurie@emeraldcoastkeeper.org.

Founded in 1999, Emerald Coastkeeper is one of 240 (and counting) member organizations of the Waterkeeper Alliance. We are a grassroots organization that monitors four main watersheds in the Florida Panhandle. Our mission is to investigate, educate and protect our right to swimmable. fishable and drinkable water. We believe that healthy waterways are directly connected to healthy communities and healthy people.

In our four watersheds, you will find many springs, creeks, rivers, bayou’s, bays and of course, the Gulf of Mexico.

Pollution can happen anywhere, not just from large industries. Some of the greatest concerns in our region stem from residential pollution.

Some of the more common culprits are septic system failure, erosion and sedimentation, nutrient loading from fertilizers, red tide, heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, (PCBs) lead, mercury, animal wastes, industrial paint source discharge, oil spills, commercial vessel pollution, residential development, and household garbage.

Protecting our waterways and drinking water from contaminants is everyone’s responsibility. We can’t do it alone…we need your help!

Feel free to contact us if you want to volunteer or to report a problem. We look forward to creating a healthy community with you!

Next, we are building the ecommerce program, launching with a fresh Foodie Life website design and a strategic email marketing plan to fuel online shopping. Introducing visuals and messaging giving the brand an edge that matches the energy of Foodie Life.

Foodie Life Radio Hour is a platform for Fellow Foodies to share some of their passions and experiences in the Hospitality and Culinary arena. A collection of funny stories, cultures, flavor and human experiences!!!
