Our greatest satisfaction is the success that we can bring to your small business. It’s why we come to work every day. Imagine headbands, coffee and keyboards. We work with intensity to deliver the results that you expect.
We know the clock is ticking. Running a small business is stressful. You don’t have money to waste,
which is why we work with intensity day in and day out.

 INTENTIONAL & ACCOUNTABLE

We do everything with intentionality. It keeps us focused. Intentionally means that we have purpose,
and our purpose is you. We don’t cry over spilled milk. We clean it up and get back to work.
Bad days happen, but it’s how you respond to them that matters most.

 VALUE

As innovators, it’s our responsibility to see additional opportunities for your business.
Our digital marketing services continually evolve, so there’s always more that can be done.
We’ll figuratively bend over backwards to bring more opportunity to your business.

Greg Guzman / G-Media

I served as an Army medic during the Reagan years. My public media career now spans more than 20 years. Most of my broadcast career was spent on air and being a corporate marketing representative. At the core, I helped raise money from the business sector to support public radio and television.

As technology changed the delivery of content, I took great interest in all things internet including social media and search engine optimization. After speaking with many of my radio clients, I noticed there was a real need to assist small businesses with navigating the information superhighway.

Many of my clients became my mentors and they encouraged me to start my own business. That business became Greg Guzman Media, LLC which is now doing business as G-Media Interactive.

Greg Guzman Media, LLC began in January 1, 2012 with the idea to help businesses successfully negotiate the ever evolving landscape of digital media.

Kolleen Edwards Chesley has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and spent the majority of her career as a financial advisor. In that role, Kolleen was responsible for finding her own clients and quickly learned the value of networking, networking, and even more networking. It was in 2004 and during her sales career that she, along with two other professional business women met for lunch with the purpose of helping to motivate each other after Hurricane Ivan had blown through our area and changed not only the physical landscape of the area, but also impacted the business landscape as well. Out of that lunch was born what is now a thriving not-for-profit organization for business women.

Kolleen currently serves full-time as the Founding Director of what was originally called Women’s Business Lunch and is now known as Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast. The organization advocates a culture of confidence building, lifelong learning, collaboration, empowering others and a spirit of charitable giving. The mission of Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is to promote, advance and improve women in business and the organization accomplishes these in a number of different ways.

–             Monthly networking meetings in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze. These are open to all women and free to attend. We run a structured meeting with open networking, an educational segment, a sponsor presentation, an opportunity to hear about the businesses of all attendees, and a whole lot of fun. We frequently hear from attendees that these meeting are chock full of value and a great way to build new relationships to help support their businesses.

–             Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast Magazine. We are in our third year of production of the magazine and our goal is for this to be a quarterly publication. Each edition features interviewees of local successful leaders in business who share their honest thoughts on leadership, success, obstacles, and inspiration as it relates to women in business. We also include other articles on leadership, networking, and other skill development. It is geared for anyone in business or looking for business motivation and tips.

–             Annual Pursue Your Passion Women’s conference. To help celebrate National Business Women’s Week, we hold a full day conference during the third week of October along with several other events leading up to the conference. We feature a national keynote speaker, several local successful leaders in business, along with Speed Networking, an Experience Hall, structured and unstructured networking exercises and plenty of laughter, relationship building and excitement. Our attendees are not only motivated by the conference but they leave with tangible tips they can take back and implement in their businesses to lead them to success.

–             Power Up Challenge is a 12 week educational series where we hold classes once a week for an hour and a half focused around four main areas of business: Networking, Marketing, Business Efficiency, and Sales Skills. Open to men and women and all classmates (whether they attend in person or not) receive the full audio recording of each class along with class notes, expanded notes, and extra resources. Classes are affordable and attendees are elated with the amount and quality of the information that is shared.

–             Women in Leadership radio podcast show – sponsored by Pensacola Business Radio X. We hold shows twice a month and bring in mostly women but some men for in-depth interviews. Interviewees share their advice on topics such as mentoring, keys to success, time management tools, personal mantras and favorite inspirations, and what men can do to help support women in business.

Membership in Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast is also available. Contact kolleen@powerfulwomengulfcoast.com for more information or visit our website at powerfulwomengulfcoast.com or Facebook at Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast.

Pensacola Business Radio: Powerful Women Of the Gulf Coast Series-Guest Quint Studer and Hosted by Kolleen Chesley

2016-12-20-12-55-06

Quint Studer is a businessman, a visionary, an entrepreneur, a mentor to many, and extremely dedicated to his community. He has given his life to designing the building blocks for people and organizations that guide them to achieving and sustaining high performance.

Quint Studer is the founder of Studer Group®, a recipient of the 2010 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. Studer Group is an outcomes firm that implements Evidence-Based LeadershipSM systems and practices to help organizations achieve, sustain, and accelerate in service, quality, finance, people, and growth.  For six consecutive years – the last three being in the top 10 – Studer Group has been named one of the Best Small and Medium Workplaces in the United States by Great Place to Work®.  Quint retired from Studer Group in March of 2016 to become a full-time community volunteer to undertake the development, training, and education of the Pensacola Metro Community.

Inc. magazine named Studer its Master of Business, making him the only healthcare leader to have ever won this prestigious award. A consummate teacher and student, Quint was part of the 21st Healthcare Leadership Curriculum Task Force at Harvard Business School. Quint has served as a Board Member at the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA) and the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Quint has also served as a Think Tank Panelist in Washington D.C., as Faculty in Residence at George Washington University, and a Guest Professor at Cornell University. In 2014, Quint was recognized as one of the 40 smartest people in health care by Becker’s Magazine. In September of 2014, Quint was the first ever recipient of Modern Healthcare’s Healthcare Marketing Visionary Award.  He also currently serves on the Board of Sacred Heart Health System.

Studer has written and contributed to a number of books including his newest Healing Physician Burnout, released in September 2015.  His first book, Hardwiring Excellence, a Business Week bestseller, is one of the most read leadership books written for healthcare, with more than 700,000 copies in circulation today. Results that Last, written for non-healthcare, hit the Wall Street Journal’s bestseller list of business books.  Some of his other books include 101 Answers to Questions Leaders Ask, offering practical solutions to healthcare leaders; Straight A Leadership, helping organizations execute well in this changing external environment; and A Culture of High Performance, providing leadership skills to perform at a higher level—continuously.  One of his most popular books, The Great Employee Handbook, provides actions employees can take to better their work and life. Just prior to leaving Studer Group Quint released Maximize Performance for education leaders and teachers, to help them create a culture of educational excellence.

Quint and his wife Rishy moved to Pensacola in 1996 and have not been afraid to invest in its future.  They both have been given many awards through their years here in Pensacola.  Of all the awards, one of their most meaningful is the “Ethics Award” by the Gulf Breeze Rotary and the Pensacola Rotary.  Quint was awarded the Pensacola Area Commitment to Excellence (PACE) Award for Community Leader in 2005/2006 for having a ‘true spirit of service.’

They are co-owners of the Pensacola Blue Wahoos minor league baseball team based here in Pensacola, Florida. The team plays in the Southern League and are the Class Double-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball team. On January 19, 2015, the Pensacola Blue Wahoos announced that two-time Masters Champion Bubba Watson joined Quint and Rishy as co-owner of the team.  With this partnership, Bubba and the Studers hope to create even more memorable experiences for Wahoos fans, cultivate a great place for Wahoos employees to work and, with Bubba’s leadership, gain a more national and international awareness for the Blue Wahoos and the City of Pensacola, Florida.

Quint and Rishy founded the Studer Community Institute in February 2014, a non-profit organization that works with small businesses and sponsors research and development of benchmarks to help communities evaluate and understand the health of local economy, government, and quality of life. The Institute produces fact-based analysis of issues that need to be addressed to move forward.  The two main initiatives Studer Community Institute focus on improving early childhood brain development by creating America’s First Early Learning City, and training small businesses and entrepreneurs in universally recognized best practices and leadership development tools to help grow their business. Quint says he has a human responsibility to act and to do so with a sense of urgency. Quint will always connect his actions back to purpose.

Pensacola Business Radio: USO and Campfire-2 Great Organizations Doing Good in Pensacola

20161122_101036

Tammy Byrer from Camp Fire Gulf Wind Council and Beej Davis from USO

Founded to Help Youth Thrive

For over 100 years Camp Fire has actively engaged youth and teens in building essential skills for life.

Luther Gulick, M.D., and his wife, Charlotte Gulick

Our heritage of cultivating community building, supporting academic readiness, and embracing diversity sets us apart.

Camp Fire was founded in 1910 by Luther Gulick, M.D., and his wife, Charlotte Gulick. They created Camp Fire “to guide young people on their journey to self-discovery.” The Gulicks felt strongly that the experiences young people have early in life teach them to care for themselves, their environment, and the people around them for a lifetime.

Camp Fire has been a leader and innovator in youth development from the very beginning. We’re proud to have led the way on some important issues.

Camp Fire was America’s first nonsectarian and multicultural organization for girls.

In 1975, Camp Fire became a coeducational organization. Boys and girls learn to play and work alongside each other and appreciate their similarities and differences in positive ways. Today, our programs serve roughly equal numbers of boys and girls.

In 1988, Camp Fire formalized its longstanding focus on teen service and leadership. Teens in Action was created to seize the energy and ideas of teens to tackle real issues in their communities. Nationwide, teens participate annually in community service projects that develop their skills and make real differences in their communities.

In 1993, Camp Fire added sexual orientation to its Inclusion Policy.

In 1997, Camp Fire introduced Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®—a national initiative that has touched millions of youth. Each year, adults and older teens write letters to youth, celebrating each child’s unique talents and pledging their encouragement and support. Absolutely Incredible Kid Day takes place annually on the third Thursday of March.

In 2010, Camp Fire celebrated its 100th birthday. Camp Fire participants across the country all lit campfires at the same time to honor the legacy of our organization. Camp Fire continues to celebrate its birthday on March 17th every year.

In 2012, Camp Fire became the first national youth development organization in the United States to implement the Thriving framework developed by the Thrive Foundation for Youth.

In our four watersheds, you will find many springs, creeks, rivers, bayou’s, bays and of course, the Gulf of Mexico.

Pollution can happen anywhere, not just from large industries. Some of the greatest concerns in our region stem from residential pollution.

Some of the more common culprits are septic system failure, erosion and sedimentation, nutrient loading from fertilizers, red tide, heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, (PCBs) lead, mercury, animal wastes, industrial paint source discharge, oil spills, commercial vessel pollution, residential development, and household garbage.

Protecting our waterways and drinking water from contaminants is everyone’s responsibility. We can’t do it alone…we need your help!

Feel free to contact us if you want to volunteer or to report a problem. We look forward to creating a healthy community with you!
