The entrepreneurial spirit doesn’t just apply to those who are starting businesses, it also applies to individuals inside organizations.

Creativity and innovation is key to business acumen when creating a culture of adaptability and growth. Leveraging the potential of an organization’s workforce adds value to organizational processes, employee satisfaction, and customer loyalty. A recent survey found that 93 percent of all working adults in the U.S. feel they possess some entrepreneurial qualities.

If your organization is trying to remain competitive, develop new products and services and fully engage the Millennial Generation workforce, join us at this workshop on August 4 at UWF Conference Center. The workshop is offered in partnership between the Center for Entrepreneurship and the Studer Community Institute.

Pensacola Business Radio-05.15.16-Guests: Jennifer Schade LMT, Heather Reichman / Happy Home, Kelly Merriman LMT, Kelly Joye / Back Office Betties-SPONSORED BY BACK OFFICE BETTIES

Back Office Betties's Profile Photo

Our CEO and Founding Bettie, Emily LaRusch has felt the entrepreneurial bug since she was a child. She got her start in elementary school when she directed the neighborhood kids in a talent show and charged parents admission to watch their kids perform. As an adult she worked for fortune 500 companies and loved sharing ideas and executing process improvements and product development as an intrapreneur.

While working on a IT project in the finance sector she spent most of her days on project calls but needed to arrange services of a carpet cleaner and landscaper for her home. On a rare break, she called multiple companies and no one answered. She called company after company until she was able to book services. One company called her back later and they said “Hey, I have a missed call from you. Do you want carpet cleaning?” Initially she was annoyed by the impersonal and unprofessional experience but after a few days a light bulb went off. This was the perfect opportunity to marry her passion for service, love of small businesses and knack for IT to become the voice of small businesses across the US and Canada! In October 2013, she put the idea onto paper as she formed a business plan and the rest is history.

I hold many hats as most women do! By day, an Account Manager for an International Technology Company, by night a dance teacher and also a wife and mother to two amazing boys. I am a dancer and an artist.  As I was introduced to Mom’s Making Six Figures, I found a way to supplement an additional income so that I could start paying off our debt. When you don’t have any debt, you have options. Options lead to freeing up my time, while still having an income that won’t change our lifestyle. Hopefully it will improve it! I am ready to start slowing down and really enjoying my life and my family. The day to day struggles of juggling a high stress career and trying to balance that with family have left me gasping for air at times. Moms Making Six Figures has really opened my eyes to a calm that I didn’t know could exist! www.momsmakingsixfigures.com

Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast has formerly existed for 3 years providing benefits to women in business looking to grow personally and professionally. In addition to the monthly meetings in Pensacola and Gulf Breeze and an annual conference, we also publish a quarterly print magazine. However, during this time many of our attendees have requested more opportunities to become more active and gain more exposure within our organization. We also see value in creating a unified front of supporters who are willing to stand together to support women in business. For many reasons, Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast recently announced membership options. Anyone interested can apply for either Traditional Membership or Premier Membership at first year introductory rate offers.

Traditional membership includes the following benefits for $30 per year: Simple listing in PWGC Member App (view online at www.powerfulwomenapp.com), personalized PWGC name tag, recognition at Pursue Your Passion conference, and eligible to be drawn for PWGC Meeting Sponsor role at monthly meeting.

Premier membership includes the following benefits for $15 per month: Premier listing in PWGC Member App (view online at www.powerfulwomenapp.com including member discount offer & clickable buttons for website, pictures, direct dial phone number & direct email), personalized PWGC name tag, recognition at Pursue Your Passion conference, discount at Pursue Your Passion conference, member spotlight in PWGC Magazine annually, and eligible to be drawn for PWGC Meeting Sponsor role.

Men and women can apply and attending the monthly meetings is not a requirement to be eligible for membership.

“The PWGC Member App and the opportunity for a member spotlight in the PWGC Magazine are both examples of great opportunities to be visible within our organization that didn’t exist before we rolled out membership,” said Kolleen Edwards Chesley, Founding Director, Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast. “We wanted affordable options that weren’t tied to having to attend our meetings but still gave members exposure and inclusion in our group.”

For more details or to apply, email directors@powerfulwomengulfcoast.com.

Kolleen’s personal mission is to “be the change you want to see in the world” (Gandhi) and she believes that if we all did what we were most passionate about, the world would be greatly changed. Last October, Kolleen took a leap of faith and left a 25 year career as a Financial Advisor to pursue her passion, running Powerful Women of the Gulf Coast full time. “We are excited about the collaborative culture we have built and can’t wait to see where it takes us and how we can support women in business.”

I have learned to manage multimillion dollar budgets as well and grow strong experience teams, do more with much less, and embrace change for moving into the future of a “new health care environment.” Building empowered and passionate team members/leaders shows to be one of my greatest strengths.  I have served under and been mentored by strong, committed, successful and well established leaders in healthcare/ hospice industry.

Covenant Hospice has been providing care for more than 30 years, serving as many as 6,000 patients each year throughout Northwest Florida and South Alabama. Our mission is to ensure our patients live as fully and comfortably as possible, without regard to their ability to pay. We fulfill this mission by providing specialized care for those with a life-limiting illness, offering hospice services wherever the patient considers ‘home.’

For patients who are unable to remain in their own homes, Covenant Hospice partners with more than 200 area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. We are proud to provide a special kind of care at both of our Inpatient Palliative Care Centers – housed at West Florida Hospital in Pensacola, Florida and at Bay Medical Center – Sacred Heart Health System in Panama City, Florida – along with the Joyce Goldenberg Hospice Inpatient Residence in Pensacola, Florida.

Our teams have developed exceptional care plans for end-stage cardiac disease, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Beyond traditional medical care, Covenant Hospice offers specialized programs and services to meet the needs of our patients and families, including the “We Honor Veterans” program; Children and Family Support Services; the award-winning Volunteer “Tuck-In” Program; chaplain services and bereavement care. Covenant Hospice is a not-for-profit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing excellence in compassionate care when it counts the most.

I am entering my eight year at AppRiver and I continue to manage Channel partner relationships with the highest regard for AppRiver’s phenomenal customer care and response time, which is demonstrated in our Channel growth this past year. AppRiver is a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application provider offering award-winning email and Web security solutions to businesses of all sizes. Understanding the need to protect networks from today’s increasingly complex IT threats, AppRiver offers businesses a comprehensive, yet affordable subscription-based solution that incorporates the latest spam and virus protection, email encryption and Web security on the market. In addition, the company provides a complete managed service for Microsoft Exchange, as well as a bundled Office 365 solution. Since its inception, AppRiver has sustained an impressive 93% customer retention rate while growing its customer base to more than 47,000 companies and over 10 million mailboxes worldwide. www.appriver.com

AppRiver has a simple mission – to be Phenomenal.

So what does being phenomenal mean for you? It means you can try out any of our services at no charge for 30 days and make sure they’re right for your business. It means you can cancel your service at any time without penalties. And it means you will deal with a well-trained, experienced team of AppRiver employees – available all day, every day – from your first call and every call thereafter. All of that means you’ll have fewer issues and that the ones you do have will be resolved quickly and accurately. Our job is simply to make your business better.

But just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it’s easy. We’ve worked hard to earn the trust of over 47,000 customers worldwide – and keep 93 percent of all our customers since we launched the business. We’re still working hard to provide the best customer service in the business because keeping our customers happy today (and tomorrow) is all that matters!
