UPCOMING EVENTS

David Overman-Karmic Contract
“The late fifties brought on the greatest change in consciousness,other than the internet, within the last 50 years, starting with the beatniks and culminating with the hippies. This generation woke up and asked, “What kind of world are you guys creating for us?” With the advent of birth control pills, nuclear weapons, an increasingly complex multicultural society and a new found sense of individuality,spirituality, freedom and love, the hippies realized, it’s not all about buying and getting, but, of  peace, love, service to humanity and the planet. What would John Lennon Do? But, was it all socially engineered? How did the awakening drift back to sleep, in today’s world of unquestioned authority and warmongering. Follow David in the reverse evolution of consciousness within the last 50 years, in his groundbreaking novel, Karmic Contract. Available at the Createspace bookstore and Amazon Kindle.”
“At the age of 15, David asked the Universe for the answers to all questions. His thoughts were replaced by “right” thoughts”, which resulted in a resolution of dualities, or of balancing them. in order not to be drawn in by the Hegelian Dialectic. In 1981,the RA material was channelled by a scientific team. The philosophy and way of the Universe, mirrored the information David received in 1971. The book is about service to others,as service to self, in a spiritual journey through the dimensions of the universe, as monism, a philosophical view shared by Albert Einstein, wherein the Creator is in all things, as All is One. The philosophy eliminates strife between the man made divisions between all humans regardless of race color creed or religion, by using empathy, and of being of service to others. This book needs to skyrocket, in order to heal the planet and avert nuclear holocaust, created by the blind acceptance of Abramic religions.
What are the odds that in an 8 dimension Universe, infinitely expanding and growing, that the Earth would be the center?

Northwest Florida Area
Agency On Aging, Inc.Serving As YourAging And Disability Resource Center

The Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc. is a private non-profit corporation funded by the Federal Older Americans Act and State General Revenue through the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA), serving senior residents 60 years old and older of Escambia, Santa Rosa, Walton and Okaloosa Counties. The Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc., serves as the designated Aging and Disability Resource Center for our four county planning and service area (PSA 1).

The Northwest Florida Area Agency on Aging, Inc., Aging and Disability Resource Center is not a direct provider of health or social services but rather the administrative agency for our area. The Agency collaborates with community-based service providers in the planning, coordination, development and evaluation of programs and services currently available for those residents who are 60 years old and older. The Aging and Disability Resource Center provides information and referral services to the aging population and well as persons with developmental disabilities.

Through the Elder Helpline’s “one stop shop” the Aging and Disability Resource Center’s staff:

  1. Determines eligibility for Federal and state funded services;
  2. Responds to requests for information for aging persons as well as persons with developmental disabilities;
  3. Initiates appropriate referrals for available servicesfor aging persons and persons with developmental disabilities;
  4. Tracks clients through a centralized data management bank;
  5. Refers clients to the S.H.I.N.E. (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) program;
  6. Evaluates effectiveness, timeliness and availability of services requested and provided

All elders, persons with developmental disabilities and their families and community service agencies have access to the Information and Referral network. The Information and Referral Elder Helpline staff initially receives the all Aging and Disability Resource Center calls. Information requests may require a response as simple as a phone number or may involve research by the Information and Referral Specialist to provide the needed information. When a referral is needed, the Specialist will forward the consumer information and service request to the appropriate health or social service agency. The Specialist will call the consumer back within 14 days to see if the information/referral provided met the individual’s needs. If with the original Information and Referral call it appears that a consumer might benefit from services provided through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs aging network, the information is forwarded to the Intake Department of the Aging and Disability Resource Center. The consumer will be contacted and a telephone screening will be performed. The responses will be entered into a statewide computerized database and a “priority score” will be calculated for the consumer. The higher the priority score the more likely a client is to receive services from one of the aging network funded programs. When funding becomes available the client with the highest priority score becomes eligible to receive services. There may be times when a waiting list for services exists. Certain service programs may require a specific medical diagnosis, a consumer co-pay for the provision of services or the willingness to self-pay.

Morgan Terry / Pig Naughty Sauces

Pig Naughty Barbecue Sauces is a purveyor of fine barbecue sauces. Barbecue is our birthright and heritage, and our sauces are an extension of generations of Terry’s smoking meat to feed their growing families in rural North Alabama and the panhandle of Florida. When we started making sauce my wife and two kids would crowd around the kitchen in aprons with spoons out stretched to taste and critique the latest batch. Once my entire family approved, I knew we were onto something special.

That’s why the heart of Pig Naughty Sauces is family, and family comes in all iterations, of course. Our food and sauces have been shared with church members, local schools, and the people we work with. Because my family, like yours, is a diverse crowd with talents and interests that cover a broad spectrum, but one thing we all agree on is eating good food and letting our hair down every once in awhile. Our goal is to provide you with time tested and family approved barbecue sauces to elevate your barbecue to the next level. Whether you do your cooking in the backyard or on a competition BBQ rig, we know that Pig Naughty Sauces is the secret weapon you’ve been looking for. From the entire Terry Family, Smoke On!

Greg Guzman / G-Media

I served as an Army medic during the Reagan years. My public media career now spans more than 20 years. Most of my broadcast career was spent on air and being a corporate marketing representative. At the core, I helped raise money from the business sector to support public radio and television.

As technology changed the delivery of content, I took great interest in all things internet including social media and search engine optimization. After speaking with many of my radio clients, I noticed there was a real need to assist small businesses with navigating the information superhighway.

Many of my clients became my mentors and they encouraged me to start my own business. That business became Greg Guzman Media, LLC which is now doing business as G-Media Interactive.

Greg Guzman Media, LLC began in January 1, 2012 with the idea to help businesses successfully negotiate the ever evolving landscape of digital media.

Pensacola Business Radio: USO and Campfire-2 Great Organizations Doing Good in Pensacola

20161122_101036

Tammy Byrer from Camp Fire Gulf Wind Council and Beej Davis from USO

Founded to Help Youth Thrive

For over 100 years Camp Fire has actively engaged youth and teens in building essential skills for life.

Luther Gulick, M.D., and his wife, Charlotte Gulick

Our heritage of cultivating community building, supporting academic readiness, and embracing diversity sets us apart.

Camp Fire was founded in 1910 by Luther Gulick, M.D., and his wife, Charlotte Gulick. They created Camp Fire “to guide young people on their journey to self-discovery.” The Gulicks felt strongly that the experiences young people have early in life teach them to care for themselves, their environment, and the people around them for a lifetime.

Camp Fire has been a leader and innovator in youth development from the very beginning. We’re proud to have led the way on some important issues.

Camp Fire was America’s first nonsectarian and multicultural organization for girls.

In 1975, Camp Fire became a coeducational organization. Boys and girls learn to play and work alongside each other and appreciate their similarities and differences in positive ways. Today, our programs serve roughly equal numbers of boys and girls.

In 1988, Camp Fire formalized its longstanding focus on teen service and leadership. Teens in Action was created to seize the energy and ideas of teens to tackle real issues in their communities. Nationwide, teens participate annually in community service projects that develop their skills and make real differences in their communities.

In 1993, Camp Fire added sexual orientation to its Inclusion Policy.

In 1997, Camp Fire introduced Absolutely Incredible Kid Day®—a national initiative that has touched millions of youth. Each year, adults and older teens write letters to youth, celebrating each child’s unique talents and pledging their encouragement and support. Absolutely Incredible Kid Day takes place annually on the third Thursday of March.

In 2010, Camp Fire celebrated its 100th birthday. Camp Fire participants across the country all lit campfires at the same time to honor the legacy of our organization. Camp Fire continues to celebrate its birthday on March 17th every year.

In 2012, Camp Fire became the first national youth development organization in the United States to implement the Thriving framework developed by the Thrive Foundation for Youth.

Pensacola Business Radio-9-27-16 Guests: Deb Moore for Escambia County Tax Collector, Kevin Parr/DrinKitz, Jeremy Carver / Edward Jones, Calvin Bonifacio/Grub Ninja

20160927_140503

Meet Deb

Deb Moore is prepared for the role as your next Escambia County Tax Collector.  She continued her family’s tradition of service to our country and is a 12 year veteran of the United States Air Force.  Trained as a Cryptologist at Pensacola’s very own NTTC Corry Station, Deb went on to serve tours of duty in England, Greece, back at Corry Station and Japan. Throughout her career she was given responsibilities beyond her pay grade and she always rose to the challenge.  Deb was promoted to E6 by Brigadier General Paul Martin right here at Corry station for her efforts.  She made the next grade to MSgt in just 10 years, as she arrived in Japan.  There the Air Force was going through a paradigm shift in management to Total Quality Management (Malcolm Baldrige) and Deb was chosen as an instructor and the lead in bringing it to the unit. She continued her management studies with the University of Maryland and, in preparation for this job, just completed Management of a Tax Collector Office TCC502 offered through the FL DOR and TCC504 Collection of Licenses, Taxes and Fees later this month while she studies TCC501 Duties & Responsibilities of a Florida Tax Collector at home.

Deb’s commitment to her family and her community is consummate. Instrumental in the 1st Congressional District Honor Flight, taking World War II veterans to Washington, D.C., she has been recognized as An Angel in our Midst twice by WEAR TV3. This is her sixth year working to raise money to support underinsured and uninsured women in our community as a member of the Krewe du YaYa’s. She participates in Relay for Life, Pink Ribbon, and MSABC since 2005 and is a Road to Recovery Driver. Additionally, she is a United Way Board Member serving as their Advocacy/2-1-1 Chair and reads to a Pre-K student with Every Child a Reader in Escambia (ECARE).  Deb is the county appointee to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and was elected as the vice chair.  She serves as the treasurer on her Condominium Association and manages their budget daily.  With the Community Traffic Safety Team, Deb is a certified helmet fitter and fits kids for bike helmets at local events.  From substitute teacher to PTO President, team mom, coach or Guardian Ad Litem — whatever was needed at the time in her son’s life or in her community, Deb has answered the call, including training as an FHSAA swim official and USTA tennis official.

My desire has always been to serve you – the citizens of our great country and now Escambia County. I bring both my extensive military and civilian life experience to the office of Tax Collector and I ask for your vote on November 8th.

DrinKitz was formed in 2012 to develop, produce, and market an innovative and unique line of powdered cocktail drink mixes. The company was formed by a group of US Navy guys far too cheap and lazy to fully stock and mix drinks from their own bars or the endurance to carry it all around.  After discovering that mixing drinks from a bartenders guide got more difficult with the number of drinks consumed they asked the golden question —why can’t we just add a packet to  our favorite alcohol, mix, and drink. Now you can!

Far different than anything on the market, these drinks  are easy to use and mix, require no knowledge of bartending or mixology, and save you time and money. Whether you’re hanging out by the pool, hosting an event at home, heading out on vacation, or want to impress family and friends, you’ll want these by your side. With  one shot of your vodka, rum, or tequila, a little water and ice, and your choice of over 30 drink mixes, with a quick shake you become an instant bartender. Want something different? No problem, just grab a different mix packet! Want something we don’t have, let us know.

Made in America with high-quality ingredients, and available through regional liquor distributors, various retail  markets, caterers, and on our own Amazon storefront (coming soon),  these great products put fantastic tasting, full-bar quality mixed drinks at your fingertips—without the bar tab.

Kevin Parr is minority owner and Chief Operating Officer of DrinKitz LLC. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City.  A former Navy Lieutenant, Kevin first served as an enlisted Navy Cryptologist, and was later granted a commission as an Information Warfare Officer; he served from 1986-1992 & 2003-2015. Kevin has extensive experience in Risk Management and Human Resources.  A resident of South Dakota, Kevin spends a great deal of time in the Pensacola area, and also travels the US as he works to launch and market DrinKitz, and recruit additional sales teams.

Calvin Bonifacio is a pioneer in new age marketing strategies and mobile applications in the Pensacola area. Having launched projects such as GrubNinja and GrubOn T.V., he has connected the community with technology allowing restaurants to flourish with additional sources of revenue at very low cost, as well as, giving customers information through visual content and experiential marketing.

While travelling the country working with companies such as Oracle, Microsoft, and CompuCom training employees and deploying updates systems and softwares, Calvin realized the effect that technology has on large scale enterprises. This experience combined with the move to Pensacola and the advent of GrubNinja and GrubOn T.V. was the catalyst to LeadGrasp. We found a way to capitalize on Google strategies to develop and bring new businesses to the Gulf Coast region.

Calvin’s dedication lies in growing the Pensacola area since he plans on growing his family here. Therefore, not only are his endeavors for business purposes, but also to ensure the success of the local economy for future generations. Calvin realizes the potential growth that Pensacola holds and will help future business capitalize on this opportunities.
